Two contracts between National Railway Infrastructure Company and the Czech Company OHL ZS s.a. and the Euro Geo Rail Consortium were signed in the Ministry of Transport.
In his statement the Minister of Transport, Peter Mutafchiev, congratulated the Management of NRIC for the ambition they have for fast preparation of projects, tender procedures and, most of all, for the short terms within which they manage to realize them. With the commencement of both this projects and the rest of the projects related to the railway transport, the strategies which we have developed prove our common goal, namely to reach a high level of development of the railway transport, which to be completely in unison with the goals set by the European railways, said also Minister Mutafchiev.
OHL ZS s.a. is the chosen contractor of the Svilengrad-Turkish Border Railway Upgrading and Electrification for design, construction and electrification of the railway section. The contract was signed by the Director General of NRIC, Anton Ginev, and by the Director General and representative of the Management Committee of OHL ZS s.a., Michal Stefl. Financing of the project is envisaged from the Cohesion Fund through Operational Programme ‘Transport’ under Priority Axis I – Railway Infrastructure Development along the Trans-European and Main Transportation Axes. The contract price is 69 999 666 leva (without VAT).
Consortium Euro Geo Rail is placed first at the conducted tender procedure for choice of contractor for designing and incorporating of a Geographical Information System for the needs of NRIC. The project will be financed by the European Fund for Regional Development through Operational Programme Transport’ under Priority Axis ‘Technical Assistance’. The contract value is 7 760 000 leva (without VAT). The contract will be signed on behalf of Euro geo Rail by the Consortium Director and Executive Director of ‘Contrax’ EAD, Jordan Jordanov.
Both contracts were signed in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Transport, Vessela Gospodinova and the Head of the Steering Body of Operational Programme ‘Transport’, Nelly Yordanova.
